BRITISH AIRWAYS:
100 YEARS OF AIRLINE HISTORY
ADRIAN CONSTABLE
AVIATION HISTORIAN, BRITISH AIRWAYS HERITAGE CENTRE
PROGRAMME INTRO
On 25th August 1919, British Airways (BA)’s earliest predecessor, Aircraft Transport & Travel Ltd. (AT&T), inaugurated the world's first scheduled international air service with a converted de Havilland 4A day bomber leaving Hounslow (later Heathrow) to Bourget in Paris.
Today, BA is one of the world's leading airlines, and the UK's national flag carrier, celebrating its first 100 years of commercial services.
Built upon a great presentation given by Alex Cruz, the Chairman & CEO of British Airways on 11 April 2019, who provided an outline of the airlines’ key milestone, the current £6.5bn investment for customers, the opportunities and challenges the next hundred year holds.
Adrian Constable from the British Airways Heritage Centre, will cover the history of the airline from the very earliest days in private hands, through Imperial Airways and British Airways Ltd, British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC), British South American Airways (BSAA) and British European Airways (BEA) to the merger into the modern British Airways, all in the September 2019 lecture.
CPD | CPD certificates of attendance will be endorsed for CEng, IEng or EngTech registration.

NOTE FOR REGISTRATION
Thanks for registering your attendance via our Eventzilla site.
We have streamlined our event registration process by introducing online booking platform as an alternative to email and telephone registeration for our lectures/events, as well as developing a way of tracking numbers on any lectures/events that may be oversubscribed.
When you book, please select the relevant ticket option, and the number of tickets you would like. The booking confirmation will be automatically emailed to you, and that there is currently no option for us to admit last minute registration at the door.
The application asks for both registration and attendee details - even if there is only one person on the booking, you must fill in all fields. If you are reserving more than one ticket please ensure you enter the name of all attendees so they are reflected on the attendee list.
If there is any problem incurred during the registration process, or if there's anything we can improve on this tool, please contact the Branch Secretary –
